Our Village
Set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Georgeham is a picturesque village nestled in a quiet valley on the beautiful North Devon coast. We have been fortunate to retain a strong community, so often lacking in today's busy society and have everything a village needs to survive.
We have a medieval Church and a Victorian primary school. We are lucky to have two pubs in the village, both serving delicious, award winning food and local ales. |
We have a busy village hall, a very active Womans' Institute, a football team and a children's play park.
Georgeham is known as the home of author Henry Williamson, who wrote his most famous book Tarka The Otter whilst living in the village. His writing hut at the edge of the village has recently been granted Grade II listed status because of its historical interest,
Our nearest beach, Putsborough Sands, is a wonderfully maintained sandy beach with plenty of parking and an excellent cafe and beach shop. The beach stretches over three miles to Woolacombe Sands - voted the best beach in the UK on TripAdvisor for 2015 and 2016.
Nearby is the renowned surfing beach at Croyde, and a short drive away is Saunton Sands with one of the best golf courses in the UK.
